Lake Sentani regarded as one of the Indonesia’s conservation priority lakes for conservation in 2010-2014, according to national conference of Indonesian lakes II in Bali on 2009 concern about sustainable lake management. Aquatic plant is the parameter of waters biotic diversity that has a role as a feeding ground for fish, a spawning ground for fish, a nursery ground for fish, and shelter ground for fish from predators. The purposes of this research is aimed to study interrelation between aquatic plants and abundance of fish in Lake Sentani. This research conducted in April 2014, the samples of aquatic plant and fish conducted in 4 station: St.1 (Doyo lama), St.2 (Dondai), St.3 (Outlet/S. Jaifuri), and St.4 (Inlet/S. Deyau). Aquatic plant samples were obtained using plot methods (1 x 1 m2) and fish samples were obtained using experiment gill net with ¾, 1, 1½, 2, and 3 inch mesh size during 2-3 hours. Ceratophyllum sp., Vallisneria sp., Polygonum sp., Eicchornia crassipes, and Pandanus sp. were the dominant species of aquatic plants. Ceratophyllum sp. and Vallisneria sp. were dominant at the station where the abundance of fish, Hewu (Glossolepis incisus) were high and water quality parameters such as Conductivity, TP, pH, TDS, TOM, and Chlorophyll-a also support for fish growth in Lake Sentani.
