Description

Pulai (Alstonia seholans R. Br.) is one of the multipurpose plant since its can be used for building construction, fruit box, pencil, traditional medicine, even to make handicraft. In Ujung Kulon National Park, rhino handicraft made from pulai wood and sold in local tourism area. The population of pulai is decreased because the locally people take pulai wood from the forest, meanwhile the regeneration of pulai seedlings is low because the seed is very tiny. An effort to cultivate pulai - to conserve population and to fulfill the consumption of pulai wood needed. Pulai propagated by vegetatif and generatif. The nutrient deficiency during pulai seedling phase discussed in this paper.
