Description
    Gnetum gnemon var tenerum Markgr is a gymnosperm classified in the family Gnetaceae. This variety is distributed from sub-tropical to tropical Southeast Asia. The study, reported here aims to provide basic information about the phenology of G.gnemon var tenerum respecially in Indonesia. Our investigation was condected using a descriptive method based on the results of observations in the field and in the nurseries as well as on supporting data from herbarium specimens. The results showed the seed G.gnemon var tenerum is able to germinate 9 - 12 monts after showing. Seedling growth was obaserved in intact specimens of G.gnemon var tenerum collected from the results of field exploration. Such seedlings were able to adapt, grow and develop properly, while seedling derived from sown seeda showed only slow groth. The flowering and fruiting season of G.gnemon var tenerum in Indonesia occurs between October and April.
