Description
Teknologi nano merupakan salah satu primadona pengembangan teknologi masa depan karena mampu mengeksplorasi fenomena-fenomena baru di skala fisis nanometer. Fisika pada skala nano memiliki karakteristik yang berbeda serta dapat dimanfaatkan untuk berbagai teknologi dengan keunggulan yang tidak ditemukan pada skala di atasnya, namun belum ada penjelasan teoritis tentang hal tersebut. Selama ini yang banyak dilakukan adalah kajian teoritik atas fisika skala menengah yang hampir semuanya berbasis pada modifikasi persamaan gerak yang telah ada. Kajian berbasis persamaan gerak sangat mudah dipahami dan intuitif, tetapi memiliki kelemahan utama, yaitu adanya pengembangan teori yang tidak berdasarkan prinsip utama sehingga pengembangan teori selanjutnya sulit dilakukan secara sistematis; persamaan gerak harus dipecahkan untuk memperoleh solusi dinamika berbasis ruang dan waktu; solusi untuk persamaan tersebut yang umumnya nonlinear sulit diperoleh secara analitik. Masalah mendasar lain adalah komparasi antara teori dan eksperimen sulit dilakukan karena pada skala nano tidak dimungkinkan pengamatan dinamika fisis berbasis perubahan waktu dan ruang. Untuk itu, diperlukan pendekatan guna mengatasi permasalahan tersebut dengan melakukan deskripsi interaksi skala nano sebagai sebuah sistem makroskopik fluida, tetapi diperoleh dari teori interaksi di tingkat yang lebih elementer. Selanjutnya, dikembangkan teori berbasis lagrangian yang merupakan teori interaksi pada tingkat elementer, khususnya untuk kasus fluid quantum chromodynamics (Fluid QCD). Berdasarkan deskripsi teori fluida QCD dilakukan pendekatan untuk fenomena fisis dengan asumsi bahwa pada skala nano dinamika makroskopik sistem serupa dengan dinamika fluida, dibangun Hamiltonian yang memungkinkan kalkulasi observable fisis terkait tekanan, entropi, dan untuk beberapa kasus diperlukan komputasi numerik secara masif. Pada tahun pertama (2010), kajian difokuskan pada produksi nanomaterial secara mekanis menggunakan ballmil, berikutnya pada tahun 2011 kajian diaplikasikan pada kasus-kasus interaksi biomateri elementer, misalnya DNA dan protein. Periode terakhir (2012), merupakan pemantapan untuk pengembangan aplikasi teori dan pemodelan untuk fenomena pada tingkat energi yang lebih tinggi, misalnya pada plasma Quark-Gluon Plasma (OGP). Kesimpulan penelitian adalah telah berhasil dikembangkan metode pemodelan baru berbasis lagrangian serta teknik kalkulasi untuk mendapatkan observable fisis secara langsung dari langrangian tanpa perlu mencari solusi persamaan gerak. Metode yang sama dapat diaplikasikan untuk proses nanomaterial. Secara umum pemodelan ini mendapat tanggapan positif dari komunitas global terkait, dan masih perlu dilanjutkan untuk kasus dengan kompleksitas tinggi, seperti dinamika pelipatan protein yang melibatkan suku-suku nonlinear.
