Semende tribe, is one of the ethnic groups living in the District of Muara Enim, South Sumatra. The population mainly live on the edge of the forest area bordering the Provinces of Bengkulu. Simple life and the strong interaction with nature, a lifestyle that supports forest conservation. One of the production forest are naturally used by people of Semende are medicinal plants. Through interviews with several community leaders of Semende and direct observation in protected forest areas, obtained some information of medicinal plants and how to use them. Identification is done either directly in the field and through the literature and herbarium specimens. This information is expected to become an important reference for local governments in the development of forestry in the Semende region.
